I AM STILL PLUGGING ALONG
I must say trying to get this soap project off the ground is really requiring a lot of time with three little ones at home. It has been like squeezing a full-time job into little blips of time throughout the day. I love the thought of doing this full-time and hope as the children get older I will have that luxury. My first two soaps are still curing and smell great. I am anxious to try them. My latest project is liquid castile soap. I have always bought castile soap in the past so I am excited to try this out. Spring has sprung and we as a family have so many things we would like to do. We don't have any fruit trees and so we decided to plant several. We are also going to try a plant a veggie garden this year..again. We have not done anything because of lack of time so I am looking forward to doing it again.

Lavender and Rosemary
I made my Lavender & Rosemary soap. It has been curing for several days in my dining room. It smells great. I ended up with two different batches. One I covered with plastic wrap and the other I placed a lid on top of the mold. The one with the plastic wrap seems to be doing fine but the other one seems to be turning a lighter color as it cures. I am not sure if that is how it is supposed to be..time will tell. I really enjoy soaping. My brother is opening a new business and said he would like to sell some of my soap. Saturday I was at a little shop in town and told the employee about my soap, she asked me to bring in a few bars to sell. Needless to say I was very excited.
For my next soap I am going to make an antibacterial soap using Tea Tree EO. I will let you know how it goes.

AHHH
After fighting for about two hours with my soap mold I finally got it out (without damage). It is simply beautiful and it smells wonderful. It was only a one pound batch so the pieces are somewhat on the sampler side. I am very much looking forward to making my next soap which will probably be tomorrow. I am wanting to do something natural with a apple smell. I am not sure how I am going to do this but I will press on until I come up with something that works. We have a wonderful apple orchard that sells all kinds of wares. I am hoping to sell some soap there. Until next time "Happy Soaping".

I finally took the plunge. I made my first batch of CP soap. I made a Luscious, lemony poppy seed soap. It smells simply yummy. It looked great when I poured it into the mold. We shall see what happens tomorrow. Of course, the children decided to get all wound up just as I started to mix the soap and then the dogs started in. I kept my focus and pressed on. I will let you know what happenes tomorrow:)

Prayers
This is a sad day for the people who have lost loved ones from the earthquake early this morning in Japan. It is a horrific time. It makes me reflect and think about how I spend my time and days here on the earth. Pray for help and comfort for all the losses.
I have been wanting to start this blog for a long time. I have very little computer skills and so I am learning as I go. My goal is to share my passion for making bath and beauty products. I like the idea of being able to control what goes into my products. For a long time I have spent a lot of money to buy products that (do not have) dangerous chemicals in them and now I am investing that money into developing my own products. This will require time before I have anything to actually show you. As exciting as this is to me the events of the day will definitely have their place in what really is important.
